Helen Mol
Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) & Specialist Neonatal Nurse

About Me
Hi!
I'm Helen.
I'm an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Specialist Neonatal Nurse, offering feeding support to families across South West London and Surrey.
I have worked in some of London's leading neonatal intensive care units, including as a neonatal infant feeding lead. That experience has shown me just how much difference skilled, consistent and evidence-based feeding support can make - whether feeding has been difficult from the start, your baby has spent time in neonatal care, or things simply aren't going as you hoped.
I'm also a mum of two boys, and I remember how confusing feeding advice can feel when you're the parent trying to make sense of it all. Finding the right support gave me reassurance and confidence, and ultimately led me to become an IBCLC myself.
My role isn't to tell you how you should feed your baby. I'll listen to what's happening, understand what you want feeding to look like, and help you find a realistic way forward for you and your family.
If you're unsure whether I'm the right person to help, or which service to book, you're very welcome to arrange a free 15-minute chat first.
How can I help you?
Feeding doesn't always go as expected. You might be in pain, worried about your baby's weight, struggling with milk supply, expressing around the clock, or simply exhausted by trying to make your current feeding plan work.
Sometimes you don't even know exactly what the problem is — you just know that feeding shouldn't feel this hard.
I can support you if:
-
Feeding is painful or uncomfortable
-
Your baby is struggling to latch or stay at the breast
-
You're worried about weight gain or milk transfer
-
You're concerned about your milk supply
-
You're expressing, combination feeding or bottle feeding and need a manageable plan
-
You're exhausted by triple feeding and want help finding a sustainable way forward
-
You've received lots of conflicting advice and don't know what to do next
-
Your baby was premature, unwell or spent time in neonatal care
-
You'd like specialist support with feeding after discharge from hospital
-
You'd like to prepare for feeding before your baby arrives.
Support in your own home
During a consultation, I'll take time to understand what's been happening, observe a feed where appropriate, assess your baby and their feeding, and work with you to make a plan that feels realistic for your family.
My support is individual to you. The aim isn't a 'perfect' feed — it's for you to understand what's happening, feel confident about your options and have a clear plan for what to do next.
Choose the support that feels right for you
You can book a one-off feeding consultation, or choose a package that includes follow-up support.
Specialist Support After NICU or Neonatal Care
Bringing your baby home after neonatal care can bring a whole new set of feeding questions.
As both an IBCLC and Specialist Neonatal Nurse, I offer feeding support tailored to premature and medically complex babies — including breastfeeding, expressing, bottles, combination feeding and transitioning from feeding tube after discharge.
Oral Function & Tongue-Tie
As an Accredited Tongue-tie Assessor, I can assess your baby's oral function as part of a feeding assessment and, where appropriate, talk you through the next steps.
